Washington State Family Court Crisis Alliance is a nonpartisan, multi-gender, multiracial alliance of parents, survivors, professionals, and advocates united by one simple belief:
No child should be put in harm’s way to preserve a broken system.
We are mothers. We are fathers. We are family and community members. We are people across the political spectrum and from all walks of life. And we are done watching Washington’s family courts fail the very people they were supposed to protect.
We reject the false binary of “mom vs. dad.” We reject the narrative that frames protective parents as manipulators, and dismisses harm as “conflict.” We reject a system where outcomes depend on who has the most money, the most connections, the best court room theatrics, or the right last name.
- We oppose abusive parents—regardless of gender.
- We oppose abusive judges.
- We oppose abusive attorneys.
- We oppose abusive systems.
Because protecting any abuse is not protecting children.
- The vast majority of custody-related abuse cases involve women and mothers as victims.
- But many men and fathers are also being silenced, exploited, or punished for speaking out.
- The real issue isn’t gender—it’s institutional power, weaponized through ideology, discretion, silence, and fear.
This system is designed to isolate victims and divide advocates. We refuse to participate in that.
We are here to expose it.
We are here to confront it.
We are here to replace it—with a family court system that centers on:
- Evidence, not bias
- Child safety, not adult reputations
- Due process, not unchecked discretion
- Oversight, not immunity
And we are not going away.
